Iran, New Zealand Call For Bolstering Economic Cooperation

Tehran, June 23, IRNA - Visiting New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully conferred on Sunday with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on ways to develop relations and cooperation on regional and global issues. New Zealand foreign minister arrived in Tehran on Saturday night to meet with Iranian officials. Referring to deeply-rooted ties in political and economic cooperation, the Iranian foreign minister called for expansion of all-out cooperation between the two nations. Describing economic cooperation as significant, Zarif said the two governments should provide more room for the private sectors to help further bolster economic cooperation. Zarif also highlighted the last developments at Iranˈs nuclear talks with G5+1 at the end of fifth round of talks. Zarif thanked the supports made by New Zealand government to Iranˈs stand during talks with the western governments. The New Zealand foreign minister, for his part referred to existing level of relations and cooperation between the two countries and expressed hope to witness further expansion of cooperation in various sectors. Clinching a deal between Iran and G5+1 will be of significance for New Zealand as well as the other countries willing to develop trade relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, said New Zealand foreign minister.
