Iran Ready To Export Electricity To India-Pakistan

Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA – Deputy energy minister said Sunday that Iran is ready to export 6,000 megawatt electricity to India and Pakistan. Mohammad Behzad said Iran is also capable of exporting electricity and engineering services to American, African and Asian states. Referring to recent visit to India of Iran's Energy Minister Majid Namjou, he said the Iranian minister has voiced Tehran's full readiness to provide electricity to several world countries. Iran will enjoy self-sufficiency in electricity industry by the end of the Iranian calendar year, March 20, 2013, said the official. He also noted that Iran is a major regional exporter of electricity./end
