Iran Resumes Exporting Goods To Iraqi Kurdistan

Qasr Shirin, March 25, IRNA -- A provincial official said that export of goods from Qasr Shirin border city to Iraqi Kurdistan region has been resumed after halt due to Nowrouz holidays in the past three days. ˈA total of 70 trucks loaded with Iranˈs export commodities passed from Parviz Khan and Khosravi border check post of Qasr Shirin to reach Iraqi Kurdish cities,ˈ Governor of Qasr Shirin Hossein Parvin said on Sunday. Qasr Shirin has two official border check posts of Parviz Khan and Khosravi with Iraq. Earlier this month, Iran and Iraq signed an agreement on mutual security, political and cultural cooperation. Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said in early March that Iran-Iraq agreement will be implemented soon. Mohammad Najjar made the remarks in a meeting with visiting acting Iraqi interior minister Adnan al-Assadi. The Iranian minister further referred to Iran and Iraq as two neighboring and brotherly states enjoying various commonalities. As with regard to bilateral agreement, Mohammad Najjar said that it was inked by the two sides during his recent visit to Baghdad. Boosting cooperation between two countriesˈ provinces, fighting terrorism and facilitating trade exchanges are among the issues stressed in the agreement, he added./end
