Iran to send commercial attachés to Europe

TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy industry minister announced the plan to send commercial attachés to Germany, France, Italy and Spain and said 25 Iranian advisers will be deployed to world countries by the end of December. On the sidelines of the fifth meeting of business advisors, Valiollah Afkhami Rad said, “we are currently selecting representatives to be dispatched to Europe; the attachés will be deployed to Germany, France, Italy and Spain to determine problems and offer solutions for the development of exports of goods and services,” he added. Afkhami Rad noted that Iran’s business relations with the world had stopped due to sanctions and many commercial attachés had left their missions unfinished coming back to Iran; “by the resumption of trade and economic activities 18 months ago, we conducted surveys to select suitable target countries to deploy commercial counselors,” he added. The official pointed to the decision of the Council of Ministers which lets the ministry of industry to have advisers in 30 countries and said, “the attachés are selected in accordance with the volume of Iran’s trade with other countries and they will seek to increase the trade volume with the target countries.” He further reiterated that, “Iranian businessmen expect the attachés to have an operational presence in the target market and provide a suitable response to their demands," underlining “Iran’s minister of industry has urged deployment of commercial attachés to target countries giving them a more prominent role than an employee of the Embassy.” “The attachés need to provide the required tools and equipment in a way to promote economic relations between Iran and other countries possessing comprehensive information on the potentials and capacities of Iran’s industrial, mining and agriculture sectors,” demanded deputy industry minister.
