Iran-Turkey To Hold Industry Co-op Commission Soon

Tehran, Nov 6, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh said on Tuesday that Iran and Turkey are planning to hold the 2nd Joint Industrial Cooperation Commission in Ankara soon. Nematzadeh made the remarks in a meeting with Turkish ambassador to Tehran Umit Yardim. He said the two neighboring countries have projected higher targets for trade and economic cooperation requiring Tehran and Ankara to make more efforts to reach the targets. He called on the Turkish government to take an immediate action to remove the obstacles in the way of trade and financial exchanges of Iranian businessmen in Turkey. In the meantime, the Turkish ambassador said tens of Iranian companies are currently active in Turkey, stressing that his country is keen to increase economic cooperation with Iran. Trade between Iran and Turkey as two big trade partners exceeded $ 22 Billion last year, Yardim said./end
