Iran, Turkey Trade Co-op Process Surveyed In Istanbul

Ankara, Oct 22, IRNA – The process of Iran-Turkey trade cooperation was surveyed in the light of implementing a bilateral ‘preferential trade agreement’ in a meeting between and Iranian delegation and Turkish trade officials in Istanbul. The 19-member Iranian delegation, headed by Deputy Marketing and Relations Deputy of the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran Mir Aboutaleb Badri, in its first meeting exchanged viewpoints with the members of the Association of Turkey’s Industrialists and Independent Job Creators (ISIAD). The ISIAD is an active NGO close to the Turkish government, headed by Alper Essen, and some of its managers were the hosts of the Iranian delegation. In addition to seeking ways for broader trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, minute details about the existing difficulties in the way of smoother trade and facilitating it was discussed during the meeting. The Iranian delegation, accompanied by Iranian Consul General in Istanbul Mohsen Mortezaifar then attended a session of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Turkey’s largest of its kind, and exchanged viewpoints with its members on bilateral trade and economic cooperation. A number of ISIAD officials and board of managers’ members were accompanying the Iranian delegation in this meeting. The Iranian delegation also on Tuesday evening had a meeting with the representative of the Turkish chambers of commerce, economic activists, and merchants in Izmir, and exchanged viewpoints with them in that major economic pole of Turkey./end
