Iran, Turkmenistan to boost bilateral trade

TEHRAN, Jan. 31 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy-foreign minister and Turkmen foreign minister have urged extension of bilateral and regional cooperation. Ehrahim Rahimpour, Deputy-FM for Asian-Pacific and special envoy to Caspian Sea affairs met with Raşit Öwezgeldiýewiç Meredow in Ashgabat to discuss matters of mutual interest, and the new conditions post-JCPOA, trade and economic ties and among the most important of issues, Caspian Sea. Rahimpour provided Mr. Meredow with an outline of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s place in the Middle East and unique capabilities and reminded Turkmen foreign minister of the fact that Iran and Turkmenistan would enjoy more close ties in the region and bilaterally as well. Meredow for his part congratulated Iran in its great success in nuclear deal with the west and emphasized that his country “is prepared more than ever to boost bilateral relations with Iran including in economics, politics, culture, and joint ventures in construction, and trade.”
