Iranian Enterprises Invited To Invest In Basra

Basra, Jan 17, IRNA – Governor General of Basra, Khalaf Abdul Samad, on Wednesday invited Iranian companies to use investment opportunities in Basra. Addressing ceremony marking inauguration of the exhibition on the potentials of Khuzestan Province of Iran in Basra International Fair, Khalaf said Basra, as the most important province of Iraq has many opportunities for investment in the fields of housing, agriculture, fisheries, cattle breeding, health care, industry, trade and tourism. He said that in Basra, housing has a priority for investment. "3,000 residential units in the form of complexes need to be built in Basra. In the field of agriculture, more than 824,000 hectares of land await investment. Also we need contribution of the private sector to implementation of the fish culture and cattle breeding projects." He stressed that Basra is absorbing foreign investors in different sectors and many countries have shown high interest in investment in Basra and Iraq, generally./end
