Iranians Residing In Dubai Favor Investment In Arvand

Tehran, Oct 28, IRNA – Managing Director of Arvand Free Zone said with the conclusion of a contract between the zone and the Council of Iranian Tradesmen residing in the United Arab Emirates, investment in the zone will increase. Esmail Zamani said in his visit to Dubai that ways of cooperation with the council with regard to investment in Arvand Free Zone and its development were discussed with the council. In the joint sessions with the council, capacities and capabilities of Arvand Free Zone were introduced to the Iranian businessmen residing in the UAE and it was decided that the council plans visits to these facilities and capacities within the framework of 6-member investment groups. He said in meetings with a number of UAE businessmen they expressed willingness to invest in the zone, especially investment in the operation of Arvand-Iraq transit line. Zamani stressed that Arvand-Iraq transit line is parallel with the Suez Canal and if it becomes operational in addition to becoming the Middle East business highway it would bring enormous income to the country. Pointing to the trend of investment in Arvand Free Zone, he said investment enjoyed satisfactory trend while exports enjoyed a growth rate of 51%. The managing director of the zone said domestic and foreign investments in the zone were oriented to gain access to the markets in Iraq./endf
