Iran's Oil Minister Dismisses Impacts Of Oil Sanctions

Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA -- Oil sanctions as the enemies’ final step to deal a blow to the Islamic Republic of Iran has proved futile. Oil Minister Rostam Ghassemi said on Sunday. “Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution (1979), the enemies have resorted to different plots to harm the Islamic Republic of Iran including sanctions, so that the sanctions on Iran’s crude oil and central bank of Iran were their final step to inflict blow on Iran,” he said. He said that in spite of the sanctions and tough pressures, the Islamic Republic of Iran has reached a higher level of self-sufficiency thanks to national perseverance. He said that the current situation of the country is “unique” and “not comparable with the past several months”, adding that even pressure on the country’s selling of certain goods or not paying Iran for its oil sales by certain governments failed to deal a blow. The minister described the government’s efforts in the economic sector as “nonstop”./end
