Iraq, Afghanistan To Import Iran fuels

Tehran, Aug 2, IRNA - Iran will soon export diesel and furnace oil to Iraq and Afghanistan, said the managing director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC). Mostafa Kashkouli added that this will be achieved with the launch of new phases of South Pars Gas Field and a rise in natural gas production by 100m n cu.m./day. He added that Iran and Afghanistan have finalized a deal in this regard. “We will soon reach a final agreement with Iraq on selling diesel to the country,” he said. Kashkouli noted that liquid fuel exports fetch substantial revenues, which help boost the country’s economy. The NIORDC chief said efforts are also underway to export liquefied petroleum gas to these countries. Kashkouli noted that Iran plans to send heavy naphtha to Persian Gulf littoral states./end
