Iraqi Kurdistan Trade delegation arrives in Qasr-e Shirin

Qasr-e Shirin, Kermanshah Prov., Oct 29, IRNA – Head of the Garmian Department of Iraqi Kurdistan Salahuddin Mohammad Faraj and his accompanying delegation arrived in Qasr-e Shirin on Tuesday with an aim of improving and increasing economic exchanges. Export facilitation and maintenance of safe transportation of fuel tankers are among the aims of the visit of the trade delegation of Iraqi Kurdistan to Qasr-e Shirin. Salahuddin Mohammad Faraj said currently the main part of the exports between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan is taking place through the official Parviz Khan border. He pointed to the resolution of Iraqi officials in fighting against the smuggling phenomenon and said economic disruptors and people who are involved in trafficking will be severely confronted. The official of Iraqi Kurdistan further remarked that efforts are underway to strengthen relations and build bilateral confidence in order to increase export of commodities and products between Iran and Iraqi Kurdistan. He expressed willingness for development of trade ties with Iran and said no effort will be spared for realization of such an important task. Meanwhile, Governor of Qasr-e Shirin Afshin Rezaei said removal of transit problems in Parviz Khan border market is among serious concerns of the officials, calling for bilateral cooperation to remove problems and facilitate export of commodities. Qasr-e Shirin border city is situated in western part of Kermanshah Province and has 186 km joint borders with Iraq and is considered the most important city in the west for development of economic relations with Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan. The city, with its two official border points of Parviz Khan and Khosravi, has been turned into a center for major economic, export and import activities with the neighboring country. Currently an average one thousand trucks carrying export goods such as fresh fruits, horticulture, dried fruits, construction materials, household appliances and other commodities demanded by people of Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan leave Parviz Khan border on daily basis./end
