IRDA Inks MoU With Indonesia's Metro TV

By Azeman Ariffin JAKARTA, Sept 27 (Bernama) -- The Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) Tuesday announced its collaboration with Indonesian television news channel Metro TV as part of its integrated media campaign to promote Iskandar Malaysia in Indonesia in conjunction with the economic region’s 10th anniversary. IRDA Chief Executive Ismail Ibrahim said that through the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Media Televisi Indonesia, which operates Metro TV, IRDA will be able to reach out to a bigger segment of the Indonesian market. “Through the media engagement, we believe that it will also enable us to reach the middle-class to affluent segments to enhance awareness on the various opportunities in Iskandar Malaysia, not just amongst the business community but also potential visitors either for work, leisure, education or healthcare services,” he said in a statement released to Bernama here Tuesday. At the MoU signing here, Ismail signed on behalf of IRDA while Metro TV was represented by PT Media Televisi Vice President Director Suryopratomo. On another development, Ismail said Iskandar Malaysia has already embarked on the third phase of its development which spans 20 years from 2006, with the final phase beginning this year focused on efforts and initiatives to ‘Sustain and Innovate’. “Iskandar Malaysia will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in November 2016 and is well on track to realising its long-term goals. "We remain optimistic that the region will continue to attract a stable inflow of investments with more upcoming projects that will continue to benefit the people in the region,” he said. -- BERNAMA
