Isfahan-Belgium Chambers of Commerce ink MoU on trade, economic cooperation

Isfahan, April 30, IRNA – Heads of Isfahan and Belgium Chambers of Commerce singed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on trade and economic cooperation and setting up trade exhibits. The two sides studied the opportunities suitable for business and investment in the city of Isfahan and Belgium. Head of Belgium Chamber of Commerce John Stoop for his part said the MoU should be considered as a directive for businessmen of the two countries. He said that Isfahan enjoys extensive a potentials for trade and economic cooperation, adding that he will do his utmost to broaden economic and cultural relations between the two countries. He said that the visit to Iran of the 40-member Belgian delegation comprising the entrepreneurs aims to develop trade ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed the hope that the current economic cooperation would serve the mutual interests. He said that Belgium is willing to export textile machinery, looms and compressors to Iran. Tiers, foodstuff, dried fruits and sea creatures are among significant export to Iran in recent years, he said. Director of Isfahan chamber of commerce Khosro Kasaeian said for his part that there exist various industrial and agricultural products in the city and underlined that some 8,000 industrial units in the city can help broaden cooperation with industrial countries such as Belgium. He expressed satisfaction over removal of economic sanctions and said they created the main obstacle to economic cooperation between the two countries. He said that signing of MoU on trade and economic cooperation would help enhance level of trade with Belgium. end
