Islamic States Should Play Effective Role In Global Economy

Istanbul, Nov 21, IRNA – Visiting Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said Wednesday that Islamic states should play a more effective role in global economy since they are enjoying rich natural resources and skilled manpower. Addressing the opening session of the 29th ministerial meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC), Nematzadeh said Islamic states should demonstrate their economic potentials through bilateral cooperation. He said providing financial resources was the main challenge facing international trade. The COMCEC meeting began in Istanbul on Wednesday with participation of 57 member states including Iran. COMCEC is working as the arm of the OIC to reduce export of raw materials and agricultural products so that the member states prefer to export them as industrial or processing output./end
