Italian Companies Keen To Enhance Trade With Iran

Rome, Jan 28, IRNA – Italian traders, companies and industry owners are seeking to boost trade relations with Iran in the aftermath of the November 24 nuclear accord with the western governments to ease sanctions on Iran. Before the imposition of arbitrary sanctions on Iran by the West, annual trade between Tehran and Rome used to be at $7 billion of which $5 billion were Iran’s exports to Italy. The sanctions drove Iran-Italy annual trade to well below the normal level. IRNA reported that a large number of Italian companies seeking foreign markets to get rid of economic recession, hope to gain a considerable share of Iranian market. Italian Foreign Ministry released a list of sanctions relief on Iran so that Italian traders and companies achieve the required information for partnership with Iranian businessmen and industrialists. Iran’s Ambassador to Rome, Jahanbakhsh Mozaffari has said that easing of sanctions on Iran has raised hope of Italian companies for resuming their activities in Iran./end
