Rome, Jan 8, IRNA – A delegation composed of Italian industrialists, entrepreneurs and lawmakers are to visit Iran soon to explore ways to cement ties between Tehran and Rome, according to Italian Institute on Asia and the Mediterranean. The visit which was planned by Italian diplomats and Iran-Italy Friendship Group in cooperation with Iranian Embassy in Rome will take place on January 24-27, IRNA reported. Iran-Italy relations are growing both economically and politically and Rome is presently Tehrans first European trade partner in terms of level of economic cooperation. An Italian parliamentary delegation led by Pier Ferdinando Casini, chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee visited Tehran following another visit to Tehran by Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino who was the first foreign minister from 28-member European Union who visited Iran since President Hassan Rouhani took office. After Iran visit, the Italian foreign minister advised European countries to seize the opportunity of Irans new approach to the world, warning that Irans semi-open window will not remain open forever based on thousands of reasons and the Western governments should not repeat the mistake they made during former Iranian president Khatami. /end
