Italian Premier To Visit Indonesia

London, May 2 (Antara)- Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi is set to visit Indonesia later this year as part of efforts to increase economic relations. Italy intended to invest in the trade and infrastructure sectors and cooperate with small and medium businesses in Indonesia, Italian Economic Minister Federica Guidi said at a meeting with Indonesian Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel at the Italian Pavilion during the World Expo Milano 2015 on Friday. During the meeting, Guidi expressed her country's readiness to provide training for Indonesian tanners, Minister Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, Nindarsari Utomo told Antara correspondent based in London. The Italian minister warmly welcomed the Indonesian trade minister's proposal to cooperate in the economic field, particularly the infrastructure sector including the construction of power plants with a combined capacity of 35,000 MW, and 2,000-kilometer toll roads, Utomo said. "I want to invite Italian investors to invest in Indonesia because they have technological expertise in the infrastructure development. In addition, we also want Italy to help develop the creative industry in Indonesia including design furniture," Gobel said. To that end, he invited Guidi to visit Indonesia. While in Italy, Gobel also met with Iranian Minister of Trade, Industry and Mining Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh. The Iranian minister invited Gobel to visit Iran to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
