Jakarta Index Extends Gain in Opening Trade

Jakarta, Feb 11 (Antara) - The Jakarta composite index opened slightly higher in the opening trade on Tuesday amid minimum new positive sentiments. The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) rose 3.28 points or 0.07 percent to 4,454.03 points with index of 45 most liquid stocks up 0.17 percent to sen) ke level 749.11. "The majority of Asian markets tended to gain though slightly this morning amid minimum new positive sentiments," Samuel sekuritas` analyst Adrianus Bias said. He said the market players are waiting for new U.S. central bank governor Janet Yellen to announce her monetary policy especially about the bank`s financial stimulus. Regional markets such as Hang Seng recorded a 1.02 percent rise in index to 21,798.51 points with Nikkei index up 1.77 percent to 14,718.34 points and that of Straits Times gaining 0.42 percent to 3,030.81 points.
