Jakarta Index Opens Slightly Higher On Friday

Jakarta, Oct 3 (Antara) - The Jakarta composite index (JCI) opened slightly higher on Friday after declining trend over the past week on unfavorable political condition in the country, analysts said. The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange rose 8.86 points or 0.18 percent to 5,009.67 points in the first minutes of trade on the day. The index of 45 most liquid stocks rose 0.26 percent to 845.08. Meanwhile the national currency rupiah continued to be on the down trend against the US dollar trading at the level of 12,105 per dollar in the opening trade losing 10 points in value from the earlier level of 12,095 per dollar.
