Jambi Reports Decline In Trade Surplus

Jambi, Sept 24 (Antara) - Surplus in Jambi`s trade balance declined 34.08 percent to US$88.55 million in July this year from US$134.33 million in the previous months. Jambi`s exports in July were valued at US$127.4 million , up 4.48 percent from June as against imports of US$38.85 million or an increase of 106.46 percent from US$18.82 million in June. Head of the Jambi Central Bureau of Statistics Yos Rusdiansyah said surplus was still recorded in July in trade excepting with Singapore, China and Australia. The largest surplus of US$35.1 million was recorded in trade with Thailand. In trade with European countries, the largest surplus of US$2.53 million was recorded in trade with Germany. Trade with Japan left a surplus of US$18.25 million , with India the surplus was US$12.13 million and with the United States it was US$3.87 million . Other major trading partners include South Korea with which there was a surplus of US$1.04 million and Taiwan with a surplus of US$4.89 million . Cumulatively, Jambi recorded a trade surplus of US$784.97 million in the first seven months of the year. *
