Japan's July-Sept. GDP Growth Revised Down to 0.3 Pct

Tokyo, Dec. 9 (Jiji Press)--Japan's seasonally adjusted gross domestic product in July-September grew a revised 0.3 pct quarter on quarter in real terms, down from the initially reported rise of 0.5 pct, the Cabinet Office said Monday. The revised figure translates into 1.1 pct on an annualized basis, against the 1.9 pct rise in the preliminary report released in mid-November. The nation's economy thus expanded for the fourth consecutive quarter. The revised annualized growth compared with the median forecast of a 1.5 pct rise among 19 economic research institutes polled by Jiji Press. In nominal terms, Japan's GDP expanded a revised 0.3 pct quarter on quarter in the second half of fiscal 2013, against the preliminary reading of 0.4 pct. At an annual rate, the growth came to 1.0 pct, against 1.6 pct. END
