JETRO reaffirms cooperation with Thailand

BANGKOK, Nov 25 (TNA) - Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) meets Thai premier to reaffirm cooperation as the two nations celebrate the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. JETRO Chairman and CEO Hiroyuki Ishige paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House in Bangkok on Friday. According to government spokesman Wirachon Sukhontapatipak, Ishige praised strong bilateral relationship at all level between the two countries. Prayut responded that JETRO had played active roles in cementing ties and reaching out to Thai agencies to foster greater ties in trade and investment, Wirachon said. JETRO also had a major role in organizing events to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations, Wirachon quoted Prayut as saying. In September, a large Japanese business delegation visited Thailand and took a tour at the sites of government's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project. Prayut asked for JETRO's supports for Thailand's development projects including Rubber City industrial estate by means of transferring knowhow and human resource development, said the spokesman.
