Jordan ready to launch free trade zone talks with Eurasian Economic Union

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Jordan is ready to apply to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for launching talks on a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), according to the protocol of the third meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries on developing cooperation in trade and economy as well as science and technology. Russia informed the Jordanian side that as soon as the respective application is submitted a joint research group will be set up for studying the reasonability of this agreement, the document said. The group will consist of Jordan’s observers and experts from the EAEU member-countries. According to the protocol, Russia plans to approve the application. Also, the Russian side has repeatedly explained that Jordan has been included in the list of developing countries, which enjoy the EAEU system of privileges, the document said. Read more
