KellyOCG: Salary, Financial Benefits Main Drivers For Job Change

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 22 (Bernama) -- Salary and monetary related benefits are the main reasons for job change among Malaysian workers, according to survey by Kelly Outsourcing and Consulting Group (KellyOCG). In its "Executive Insights: Exploring Today's World of Work" report, the consulting group revealed that 93 per cent of Malaysian-based employees surveyed said the attractiveness of a potential employer commensurates with salary and financial benefits. "It is also the main reason that drives their decision to accept one job over another. This high regard for salary is lower in Asia Pacific where the average is at 86 per cent and globally it is at 84 per cent," it said in a statement Thursday. Asia Pacific Vice-President Anthony Raja Devadoss said apart from salary as the key motivator for job change, there was a dynamic shift to a more autonomous and empowered workforce. "Employees are actively looking for better job opportunities or evaluate the job market. Over 60 per cent of today's workers globally spend at least one hour per week networking and establishing resources for new job opportunities," he said. -- BERNAMA
