Kermanshah Handicrafts Export Hits $1.8m

Kermanshah, July 25, IRNA - An Iranian official said some 30 tons of handicrafts, worth $1.8 million, were exported from this western province during the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2011). Deputy Head of Kermanshah Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department Nosratolla Sepehr said the figure was $1.6 million during the same period last year. He said most of the Kermanshah's handicrafts were exported to Iraq. Sepehr stressed that export of handicrafts plays a pivotal role in introducing indigenous crafts as well as history and civilization of each tribes in different parts of Iran./end
