KeTTHA Chairs Some-33 And Associated Meetings In Kota Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia), May 27 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (KeTTHA), headed by its Secretary-General Loo Took Gee, Wednesday chaired the 33rd ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting (33rd SOME) on Energy and Associated Meetings here. The Malaysian delegation to the meeting also included senior officials from the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister's Department and the Energy Commission of Malaysia, said a ministry statement. The SOME meeting, which is held on a rotation basis among the ten ASEAN member countries, is a platform for the officials to discuss both global and regional energy issues, as well as, cooperation among ASEAN member countries in the field of energy. The meeting will be divided into eight specific workstream to ensure quick and effective cooperation. "Besides discussions on the eight specific workstream, meetings and consultations will also be held with dialogue partners like the United States, China, Japan, South Korea and Russia, as well as, the International Energy Agency," the statement added. The 33rd SOME meeting, this time around, will also give priority to discussions on the first phase of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (2016-2025). -- BERNAMA
