Khan Bank grants scholarships to 70 students for 2016-2017 academic years

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Khan Bank reported Tuesday that it has awarded scholarships to 70 outstanding students for the 2016-2017 academic years. More than 1,200 students submitted applications for this year's scholarship, which were reviewed in a three-stage process by the Foundation's selection panel. The selection panel consisted of representatives from Khan Bank, government agencies, educational organizations, and citizens. The selection criterion is based on a student's academic and athletic performance over last three years, grade point average (GPA), financial resources, and active involvement in social activities. Scholarship Program for New Students, created for high school seniors, is one of the Khan Bank Foundation's numerous contributions to the education sector, the social responsibility arm of Khan Bank. The Khan Bank Scholarship Program for New Students, which has been carried out across the country since 2007, provides financial support to exceptional senior students from high schools in the 21 provinces of Mongolia, Zamyn-Uud, Zuunkharaa and three isolated districts in Ulaanbaatar - Bagakhangai, Nalaikh and Baganuur. In last nine years, Khan Bank has granted scholarship awards in sum of MNT 645 million to 1,290 students.
