Larijani: Iran-S.Korea Economic Ties To Expand

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that economic and trade relations between Iran and South Korea in the new era will expand. Ali Larijani after meeting with South Korea Parliament Speaker Kang Chang-hee here on Sunday evening, told reporters that both countries have had close relations in economic and cultural fields since many years ago. Expressing pleasure with the visit of his South Korean counterpart, Larijani said that trade ties between the two countries were good in the past, but in the last one or two years ties had fluctuations. He added that the South Korean parliament has now taken the lead to develop economic ties and cooperation with Iran, so we discussed trade ties today, too. Larijani expressed hope that the visit of South Korean parliamentary delegation to Iran to be a turning point in the bilateral relations. He added that in the meeting, both sides discussed expansion of parliamentary relations, economic cooperation. Both sides also decided to facilitate relations between businessmen and industrialists of the two countries, as well as cultural and academic cooperation. South Korea parliament speaker, heading a 21-man parliamentary delegation, arrived in Tehran on Sunday noon. The visiting delegation, during its 3-day stay in Iran, will travel to Fars and Isfahan provinces, too./end
