Larijani: Iran Welcomes Singaporeˈs Investments In Various Fields

Tehran, Feb 25, IRNA - Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Monday that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes investments by Singaporean companies in oil and gas sector as well as cooperation in financial and banking affairs. Larijani made the remarks in a meeting with Singaporean Law and Foreign Affairs Minister K Shanmugam on Monday. He also expressed satisfaction with current level of parliamentary and political relations between Iran and Singapore. Expansion of parliamentary cooperation helps bolster political ties as well as interaction between the two nations, he said. Larijani also welcomed exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two sides. Establishment of Iran-Singapore parliamentary friendship group will prepare grounds for expansion of relations between the two nations, Larijani said. Referring to scientific and industrial potentials of both countries, he said the two sides should endeavor to uphold current level of commercial cooperation, he said. On talks between Iran and G5+1, he said the two sides are determined to avoid any hue and cry in order to clinch a final deal. The Singaporean minister, for his part, said his country welcomes expansion of parliamentary, commercial and economic relations with Iran. Referring to the upcoming visit of the Singaporean parliament speaker to Tehran, he described it as a significant measure to expand parliamentary cooperation between the two countries./end
