Larijani: Resistance Economy To Materialize Society’s Potential Talents

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA – Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said here Monday evening, resistance economy can materialize society’s potential talents, and thus provide the path for presence of youth at economic and production scenes. The Parliament Speaker who was speaking at a press conference on Sunday, emphasized that the final structure of country’s resistance economy is devised and it is on the verge of being implemented in practice. “Resistance economy means the people would shoulder the economic tasks and monopolies for presentation of goods to the clients would be lifted,” Larijani added. Pointing out that indigenous approach towards national economy is needed, Larijani reiterated, “This means taking advantage of the entire existing talents and potentials in the society at the service of the national economy. In this type of economy the banks and financial institute provide the path for the presence of the young generation in economic and production fields and reliance on imports would be drastically decreased.” He added, “We must confess that during the recent years imports have made it tough for the activities of the Iranian producers and local economic activists. Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, too, said on Sunday the Sacred-Defense era experience and post-war management provide officials with a good and bright ground for implementation of the new policy of Resistance Economy. According to Public Relations Department of the Expediency Council, Rafsanjani told a group of Ulema and clergymen that under wise and sound management and following soft diplomacy of detente would enable the country to leave behind the ongoing sensitive juncture. He called for efficient and skilled officials to properly implement the Resistance Economy specific policies. Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamene’ie in a late July speech, called on the government to adopt a 'Resistance Economy' to thwart the sanctions. The Supreme Leader defined the policy as 'correcting consumption patterns, cutting waste, doubling efforts, democratization of economy, strengthening the private sector, and reducing Iran's dependence on oil.' /end
