At least 150 Japanese companies expected to attend Innoprom-2017

TOKYO, November 21. /TASS/. As Japan is going to be the country-partner of Russia's Innoprom industrial exhibition in 2017, at least 150 Japanese companies and corporations are expected to attend the event, director of Innoprom’s business program Anton Atrashkin, who is visiting Japan within the delegation of Russia’s Industry and Trade Ministry, told TASS Monday. "Taking into account the fact that there were 150 companies from China in 2015 and 120 companies from India in 2016, we don’t expect less participants from Japan," he said, adding that "there is a flurry of interest from Japanese businesses to Russia now." According to Atrashkin, both big corporations and mid-sized companies are taking interest. "Mid-sized businesses are one of major priorities for Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. It is widely accepted that it is easier to deal with mid-sized businesses as they are less exposed to any political trends so we hope that there will be definitely not less companies than China presented at its time, and probably more," he said. Also, Atrashkin said, "the issue of participation of Japanese companies (at Innoprom) will be raised at the highest level" during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Japan in December this year. Innoprom is one of the largest industrial exhibitions in Russia, which is held in Yekaterinburg from 2010. The exhibition is dedicated to high technology developments and projects of Russian and foreign companies. Read more
