Loans offered to SMEs in agricultural sector

BANGKOK, May 15 (TNA) - The state-run Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) has already offered 11 billion baht loan to agriculturists under the project called "Loans for One Tambon One SME" in the agricultural sector. BAAC senior executive vice president Somsak Kangteerawat said loans under the project have been offered to agriculturists since February 1 this year. BAAC targets to give 72 billion baht loan to SME operators in the agricultural sector within this year. Loans will be given to persons, community enterprises and agricultural cooperatives to add values to their farm products in production, processing and packaging. Under the programme, BAAC offers a maximum of 20 million baht to each borrower and the interest rate will stand at 4 per cent in the first seven years. (TNA)
