Macita Targets RM200 Mln From Three Year-end Trade Fairs

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia China International Trade Link Association (Macita) and international trade exhibition organisers are targeting RM200 million (US$1= RM4.50) to be generated from three trade fairs to be held in early December. The three events are the 17th Malaysia International Branding Showcase (MIBS), Malaysia Branding Showcase (MyBrands) to be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and the 33rd Malaysia International Machinery Fair (MIMF) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec). The MyBrands showcase would also feature the 8th Zhejiang Export Fair (Malaysia). Macita deputy president Datuk Naim Mohamad said RM100 million is expected to be generated from each of the two locations. “Previously, we achieved RM100 million, but this might be low after the COVID-19 pandemic, and it depends on what would be showcased. “I hope that the exhibitions would help spur economic growth," he said during a special briefing on the exhibitions. Naim said an estimated 300 companies from 15 countries, including China, Japan and Korea, would be taking part in three trade fairs. He said apart from showcasing their products, entrepreneurs and companies could use the trade fairs to network on an international level. The MIBS and MyBrands fairs would be held concurrently from Dec 2 to 4 at the KLCC, while the 33rd MIMF would take place from Dec 1 to 3 at the Mitec. -- BERNAMA
