Malaysia Airports Holdings Registers Higher Passenger Movements For Jan 2017

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd's (MAHB) airports registered 9.98 million passenger movements for January 2017, a 8.9 per cent increase compared to 9.17 million registered in the same month last year. In a filing to Bursa Malaysia (Malaysia's stock exchange) today, MAHB said, its international passenger traffic recorded 10.1 per cent growth to 4.7 million passengers in January while domestic traffic increased by 7.9 per cent to 5.2 million passengers. It said the Kuala Lumpur International Airport's Main Terminal's double-digit growth streak continued with a 38.4 per cent increase compared with January last year. "The overall aircraft movements rose by 4.8 per cent with the international and domestic movements registering an increase of 2.9 and 5.9 per cent respectively compared with January 2016. The overall load factors improved to 73.4 per cent in January 2017, a rise of 2.7 per cent percentage points compared with January last year," it said. -- BERNAMA
