Malaysia Aviation Academy Gains Full Membership Of ICAO TRAINAIR Plus Programme

PUTRAJAYA (Malaysia), May 13 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Aviation Academy (MAvA), the training arm of the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA), was awarded full membership of the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) TRAINAIR Plus Programme effective May 1 this year. DCA Director-General Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, in a statement Thursday, said the achievement underlines MAvA’s key role in aviation training. "The full membership award is an important milestone for MAvA in its mission to be an ICAO regional training centre of excellence and a leading global aviation training centre. "This is also a recognition of MAvA’s dedication in creating the best possible training environment and providing the highest level of training standards," he said. To complete the procedure in becoming a TRAINAIR PLUS full member, Azharuddin said MAvA had established a dedicated course development unit to develop Standardised Training Packages (STPs). He said MAvA had worked diligently over the past few months to develop its first and one of a kind STP entitled ‘Handling Emergencies and Unexpected Events in Terminal and En-route Airspace’. "This STP has been uploaded to the TRAINAIR PLUS virtual library and is available to all members of the programme," he said. -- BERNAMA
