Malaysia Bags 2 Awards At Top Asia Corporate Ball 2014

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia was honoured as 'Asia's Most Liveable Nation' and 'Asia's Top Country for New Opportunities in Foreign Investment' at the 2nd Top Asia Corporate Ball 2014. The first award, received by Abdul Khani Daud on behalf of the Tourism and Culture Ministry, recognises the country's culture, affordability and friendliness, a statement said. The second award, which honours Malaysia's progressive government policies and conducive business environment, was received by Malaysian Investment Development Authority Executive Director Ahmad Khairuddin Abdul Rahim. Individuals honoured included Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin (Asian Music Legend Award), Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa (Asian Corporate Icon Award for Telecommunications), Mustapha Kamal of Emkay Land (Asian Icon Award for Master Developer), and Lim Wee of Top Glove (Asian Icon Award for World Class Entrepreneurship). "Today, inspiring good role models from around the Asian region are needed more than ever before in every arena of life and I believe that the likes of them should be made known far and wide," Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Wee Ka Siong said in the statement. The event, organised by Top 10 of Malaysia and Top 10 of Asia Initiative, a Kuala Lumpur-based organisation, played host to some 900 distinguished CEOs, business owners and personalities from across Malaysia and Asia.
