Malaysian Businesses Told To Tap Chile Market

KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysian businesses need to seek good opportunities and potential in the Chilean market as Chile is among the most developed nations in Latin America, said Malaysian Ambassador to Chile Dr Mohamad Rameez Yahaya. In a recent ASEAN expo to promote Malaysian tourism products to the Chileans, Mohamad Rameez said apart from offering attractive and affordable tourism packages, the medical and education tourism sectors also have a huge potential to be marketed in Chile. "It is hoped that through this expo, more Chileans, with the assistance and advice of Chilean travel operators on places and logistics, will come and visit Malaysia," he said in a statement. The expo in Santiago, Chile was jointly organised by the embassies of ASEAN member countries Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. At the expo, the Malaysian embassy also took the opportunity to promote Proton, the national car which also had the 'Visit Malaysia' sticker, as well as video presentations and talks about ASEAN and Malaysia by Mohamad Rameez. In 2015, only over a thousand Chileans visited Malaysia and only 4,000 Malaysians visited Chile. --BERNAMA
