Malaysian Food Manufacturer To Penetrate Japanese Mart With Instant Noodles

REMBAU (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia), Jan 10 (Bernama) -- Bumiputera food manufacturer, Muslim Best Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd, plans to penetrate the Japanese market with its new instant noodles. Its Managing Director, Sheikh Ahmad Dusuki Sheikh Mohamad, said the company planned to export them to Japan from the second half of this year. The products would be sold through supermarket chain, Family Mart, which has over 6,000 outlets in Japan, he said. "Our factory in the Pedas Halal Industrial Park will start operations next month and we aim to produce 3.8 million packets a month," he said. "The instant noodles will be marketed under the 'Spicy' brand name. It will have four flavours -- asam laksa, curry, tom yam and black pepper chicken," he told reporters after a visit by members of the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM) here today. Also present were Muslim Best's Executive Director, Nik Izani Nik Ibrahim, and PPIM chief activist, Nadzim Johan. Sheikh Ahmad Dusuki said the instant noodle products would be available in the local market in the middle of next month. In addition to instant noodles, he said, the company would also produce cream cracker biscuits, potato chips, reverse osmosis water and juice-based drinks. Meanwhile, Nadzim said, the association and its members would cooperative with Muslim Best to promote the products of the company. -- BERNAMA
