Malaysian Ministry Hails Positive Outcome Of Meet With Indonesia On Palm Oil Issues

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- The Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry of Malaysia welcomes the positive outcome of the Thursday's meeting between Malaysia and Indonesia on palm oil issues. In a statement Friday, it said the historic meeting was the first time that the two major oil palm producers reached concrete understanding to collaborate and coordinate strategies on issues related to palm oil. "The ministry is confident the decisions taken will augur well for the palm oil industry during these challenging times, especially towards assisting the smallholders," it said. The ministry said it welcomed also welcome the formation of the task force to ensure appropriate strategies were drawn up to enable speedy and effective implementation of the action plan," it said. --BERNAMA
