Malaysian Online Shoppers To Increase, Says Reblex Business Group

By Nor Awaina Arbee Ahmad Rejal Arbee KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- Reblex Business Group Sdn Bhd, an organiser of business conferences, sees the number of Malaysian online shoppers increasing over the next five years. President Felex Tan said online shoppers are expected to make up 50 per cent of the population within this period. "Currently, only 30 per cent of the population shops online, with the likelihood of retail shoppers being transformed to the former in time. "On some sites, it is safe to say that business is booming as the number of shoppers grows," he told Bernama after launching the 5th Asia E-commerce Conference 2015 here, Wednesday. He said the online industry is also growing steadily in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Tan explained that the 5th Asia E-commerce Conference 2015 is being organised by Reblex to provide a platform for companies to network in the e-commerce industry. "Our first conference in 2011 had only 30 delegates. This time, we have seen a big leap to 300. "This conference also gives us an opportunity to encourage shoppers and companies to venture into the e-commerce market," he said. Tan said the one-day conference has invited international players giving talks as well as providing business networking opportunities for delegates. -- BERNAMA
