Malaysian Ringgit Slightly Higher Against US Dollar In Early Trade

KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian ringgit rebounded from Tuesday's losses to open slightly higher against the US dollar Wednesday on mild buying interest for emerging currencies, including the ringgit, dealers said. At 9.10 am, the local unit was quoted at 4.2630/2700 against the greenback from Tuesday’s close of 4.2650/2680. Against a basket of major currencies, the ringgit traded mostly lower. It fell against the Singapore dollar to 3.0876/0929 from 3.0868/0898 on Tuesday but appreciated to 5.4993/5096 from 5.5070/5121 compared with the British pound yesterday. The local unit weakened against the yen to 3.8910/8981 from 3.8879/8910 previously and declined against the euro to 4.8040/8136 from 4.7973/7019 on Tuesday. -- BERNAMA
