Malaysian-Thai big bike event set May 13-14

NARATHIWAT, THAILAND, May 4 (TNA) - Narathiwat Province in the Thai Far South will organize the Su-gnai Golok Bike Week 2016 during May 13-14 to boost local tourism, in which Malaysian, Singapore and Thai big bikers will join. Narathiwat Governor Sitthichai Sakda told journalists on Wednesday that concerned provincial parties, including local tourism officials and the Golok Rider Club, have set the opening of the upcoming big bike event at the Ming Khwan Pracha Public Park in Sungai Golok District. Sitthichai said apart from promoting local tourism, as Narathiwat possesses pristine natural resources and delicious food products, the two-day event is also aimed to further strengthen relations between Thailand and the two neighboring countries, projecting that about 5,000 people to show up in the event. According to the governor, there will be concerts of famous artists, while participating big bike riders will also visit local tourist attractions. Meanwhile, Sakulsak Mada-oh, head of the Golok Rider Club, told reporters that the Su-gnai Golok Bike Week is an annual event to promote tourism in southernmost Thai border areas and boost confidence in security in the Thai Far South. Sakulsak noted that the event has received good responses from locals and foreign visitors and this year participants will, as previous years, have pleasant moments with a wide range of activities.
