Malindo To Commence Flights To Brisbane On March 31

KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- Malindo Air will commence flights to Brisbane, Australia from March 31. In a statement Monday, the airline said the daily service marked the its second foray into Australia after Perth, and bookings are now open. It said promotional fares for one-way on the Brisbane route starts from US$236 (RM1,049) for economy class and US$532 (RM2,369) for business class. The fares are all-inclusive with perks such as free baggage allowance, in-flight entertainment and meals. Flight OD157 will depart Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) daily at 6.05 pm to Brisbane via Denpasar, Bali (Indonesia), arrive at 9.10pm. The flight then departs Denpasar at 10.00 pm and arrives Brisbane at 5.40 am. The return flight OD158 departs Brisbane at 7.15 am, arrives Denpasar at 11.45am, depart at 12.45 pm and arrives KLIA at 3.45 pm. "There are immense opportunities for future growth associated with this new connectivity as Brisbane is a significant commercial business hub and tourism gateway. "We will certainly work on building beneficial relationships with Malaysian and Australian tourism players and Brisbane Airport authorities, to ensure the success of this new route," said Malindo Air Chief Executive Officer, Chandran Rama Muthy. The narrow-body Boeing 737-900ER aircraft, with a seat capacity of 180, with 12 business class and 168 economy class seats, will be deployed on this route. -- BERNAMA
