Managing-Director: Eni Waiting To Enter Iran’s Market

Rome, Dec 7, IRNA – The Italian giant oil company Eni has put itself in the list of competition over Iran’s oil projects after Iran’s recent diplomatic victory in Geneva. Eni’s Managing Director Paulo Scaroni described Iran an oil heaven, and said that his company will be the first one to take part in Iran’s lucrative projects after removal of the US–led sanctions on Iran. “In my talks with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh we talked about Iran as an oil heaven and now six months has been set and I think Iran will respect its commitments in this period. The coming six months is very sensitive,” Scaroni said. He recalled his recent meeting with Zanganeh in Vienna, and said, “Zanganeh is a person with superb characteristics and he considers Italy as Iran’s number one international partner.” Scaroni reiterated that Italy has been in Iran since 1955 and it has never left the country./end
