Mazandaran exports to Russia jumps by 300%

Sari, Jan 18, IRNA – Secretary of Mazandaran province export development Mohammad Mohammad-pour Omran said on Thursday that non-oil goods export of the province to Russia passed 24 million dollars. He said that exports value in the same period of time last year was 8.7 million dollars. The official said that the cause of jumping increase in exports amount was execution of signed bilateral agreement between presidents of the two countries. Director General for Industry, Mine and Trade organization of Mazandaran Province said total amount of exporting goods from Customs office of the province in current year is around 303 million dollars and this amount in comparison to the same period of the preceding year increased by value 6 percent. In the same period, 513,000 tons of goods were exported to exporting destination countries, while it was 655,000 tons last year. Mohammad-pour said in the current year 72 percent of the total export of the province worth 217 million dollars went to Iraq. Meanwhile, he added that the value of exporting goods to Iraq decreased by 5 percent in comparison with the same period of last year. He said increase in tariff for Iranian goods by Iraq is the main reason for this reduction and expressed the hope that by recent agreement, Iraq reconsiders its drawing tariffs for Iranian businessmen. Mohammad-pour Omran said tariffs for the Iranian exporting goods to Iraq are around 40 percent. He said in current year around 4 million dollars worth of goods have been exported from Mazandaran for Qatar. Increase in exporting goods from Mazandaran to Qatar depends on establishment of aerial flight, because it is too far. Mazandaran had exported 650 million dollars worth of goods past year. 1378/IRNA
