MCOT confidents in its digital TV business

BANGKOK, April 23 (TNA) -- Amid fierce competition in digital television business in Thailand, SET-listed MCOT Public Co, Ltd is confident that its business strategy could cope with the highly competitive business in the country, said MCOT president Sivaporn Chomsuwan. Currently, MCOT is operating two digitial TV channels – MCOT HD and MCOT Family children’s channel. Mr Sivaporn said MCOT TV contents are still packed with entertainment and social constructive programmes. Audiences will be excited with the television’s news programmes after fresh strategy has been implemented, he said. On its radio business, Mr Sivaporn said MCOT would maintain the number one ranking position in Thailand by adding new programmes aimed at creating close relationships with the audience and its business synergy. Stressing that the company’s five-year strategic plan is crystal clear, he said, digital content of MCOT has to be adapted on a regular basis for the purpose of creating long-term revenue for the company. With a land plot amounting 50 rai as the company’s assets, MCOT could move forward with steady revenue and could “stay throughout 12-round if it were a boxer.” (TNA)
