Medvedev satisfied with economic cooperation with Vietnam

NAYPYIDAW, Myanmar, November 12. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday he was satisfied with economic cooperation with Vietnam. He expressed hope that the countries would succeed in increasing trade turnover to $10 billion. “Russian-Vietnamese cooperation is increasing. The good level of trade turnover proves this: it is about $4 billion,” Medvedev told a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung. Both countries have plans for increasing trade turnover. “We want to reach $5 billion and $10 billion over the long term,” he said. “In general, the relations develop quite positively,” Medvedev said. The heads of government meet regularly, he said, adding that the dialogue would continue in 2015. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong is planning to visit Moscow in two weeks. Russia intends “to hold talks and sign documents”, Medvedev said. The Vietnamese premier shared the view of his Russian counterpart. “Our bilateral relations develop in all directions very well,” Nguyen Phu Trong said. He hopes that the countries would succeed in reaching “more substantive and effective level that would correspond to strategic partnership”. Read more
