Medvedev urges Russian producers to increase share of their products on markets of EAEU

ST. PETERSBURG, January 28. /TASS/. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has urged Russian producers to increase the share of their products on the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan). At a meeting of the commission on import substitution, the Prime Minister proposed to discuss how to use cooperation within the EUEU to implement the task of import substitution. "The countries which are part of the Union have a lot of opportunities, we need to step up cooperation with our partners in general as well as with private companies," - the Prime Minister said. One of the priorities for Russia is to increase the share of its products on the market of the EAEU, he said. "Russia was offered a room for development in 20 industries and 15 sectors in science, technology and innovation. We need to move on towards practical work, it is obvious that Russia should occupy the most active position to offer partners specific products and services that we could produce, as well as mechanisms for possible co-financing of programs of import substitution,"- Medvedev said. According to him, "today the Eurasian Union still has a number of barriers in the field of public procurement, technical regulations, intellectual property, taxation." Medvedev said the government should consider how to address these issues. Read more
