MGCCBC Collaborates With Two Australian Companies For Online English Learning Programmes

PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), April 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Gulf Co-operation Countries Business Council (MGCCBC) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two Australian companies to develop an online English learning programme. The two companies are global general and occupational English language programmes provider, International Language Academy Pty Ltd (ILA), and online education provider, The Computer School. MGCCBC President Dr Mohamed Iqbal said there had been increasing interest in raising English language proficiency in the Middle-East region, which led to the signing of the MoU. "The council saw huge potential in the Australian-based education system and the Gulf countries require these services as they are strengthening their English competency. "With the signing of the memorandum, the council will provide a platform for these companies to venture into the Gulf region, as well as, Malaysia," Mohamed told reporters after the signing ceremony on Tuesday. The Computer School Founder and Managing Director Wayne Lewis said the programme was expected to roll out in the next three months. Meanwhile, ILA Chief Executive Officer Keith Wright believed its accelerated English teaching and learning methodology would make a significant impact in the Gulf countries in due course as a result of this collaboration. --BERNAMA
